Professional Experience
String Repair Technician
Repair of violins, violas, cellos, and basses across the full range of repairs — from routine setups and adjustments to complex structural work. Responsible for independently managing daily workflow, maintaining a large rental inventory, and providing on-the-spot assessments and estimates for customers.
Violin Making & Repair Apprentice
A formative apprenticeship developing skills across the full spectrum of stringed instrument making and repair. Worked directly with customers on instrument selection and estimates, managed rental instrument inventory, and contributed to all aspects of shop operations.
Repair & Sales
Early experience in a dedicated violin sales and repair shop, building foundational knowledge of the trade and customer service in a specialty instrument environment.
Education
Bachelor of Music — Composition
A foundation in music theory, composition, and deep engagement with the Western orchestral tradition — all of which informs Eric's understanding of how instruments produce sound and what players need from them.
